Walter James Sury's Obituary
Walter James Sury, 75, of Pataskala OH, passed away on June 11, 2026 at OSU James Cancer Hospital in Columbus, OH. Walter was born on April 14, 1951 in Cleveland, OH to Walter and Virginia Sury.
At the age of 17, Walter enlisted in the United States Navy. He proudly served on the USS Coral Sea during the Vietnam War, working as a firefighter and machinist on the ship.
Following his military service, Walter worked at TRW as a machine press operator. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, tinkering but most of all spending time with his family.
Walter is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Grace; his son Jeffrey (Shelby) Sury; brothers Mel Sury and Mark (Lisa) Sury and sister Donna Sury; nieces and nephews and his faithful dog B. He was a very proud grandpa to his grandaughter, Lauren Sury. Walter was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Virginia Sury.
At this time, services are not planned. In lieu of flowers, his family asks that donations be made in his honor to a charity for Veterans.
