Jason Taylor Belcher's Obituary
Jason Taylor Belcher passed away peacefully November 25, 2025 at his home surrounded by family after his 3 year battle with brain cancer. Jason was born March 5, 1986 to his loving parents Wayne and Lea Ann (Coontz) Belcher.
Jason was preceded in death by his Grandparents Robert and Jeri Coontz and Harry and Rose Belcher, as well as his uncle Jerry Coontz.
Jason is survived by his daughter Makenzie Taylor Belcher and his partner and fiancée Holly Chain. His parents Wayne and Lea Ann (Coontz) Belcher, brother Matthew (Judith Sauter) Belcher and niece Lillian Belcher. As well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and extraordinary friends.
Jason was a graduate of OSU where he earned his bachelor’s degree. He worked hard and played hard as well. He enjoyed playing and watching numerous sports throughout his life. He enjoyed trap shooting with his Grandpa when he was younger. He played baseball in college, coached baseball and most recently enjoyed recreational co-ed volleyball. His favorite sports team was the St. Louis Cardinals. He loved all forms of music and was always singing and dancing and generally had a love for life.
Jason loved and lived for his beautiful and intelligent daughter Makenzie and being a father was his number one priority and his biggest joy in life. He fought every day for another day with her.
His devoted fiancée, Holly, whom he called the love of his life, stayed by his side and nursed him through his journey. Through their years together they built memories and a connection that will last a lifetime. They loved each other with their whole selves openly and widely and had many dreams for their future together.
Jason had a typical brotherly relationship with his younger brother Matthew when they were growing up but as they grew and matured their bond did as well. Jason loved his brother unconditionally and you can always see parts of Jason in Matthew.
Lea and Wayne have had a portion of their heart taken away with the passing of their eldest son. They couldn’t be prouder or more thankful that they were blessed with this wonderful person as their son.
Jason’s friends and family will never forget his kindness, wonderful smile and infectious spirit that had everyone he was in contact with loving him very quickly.
Jason's family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to all the many individuals who were a significant part of his life and who stood by him so faithfully, especially during the last few years.
Per Jason’s wishes there will be a “Celebration of Life” at a later date.
