James E. Solberg's Obituary
On January 27, 2026 Our Precious Lord took the hand of James E Solberg leading him home where he’s playing the Blues in the Promised Land.
He was born June 8, 1951 in Superior, WI to Esther K (Longberg) Solberg and Basil E Solberg who preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Beth Solberg of Middletown, OH, his son Justin (Kristin) Solberg of Eau Claire, WI, 2 daughters Jessica (Jesse Wabiszewski) Solberg of Waterford, WI, Jamie (Ross Okoye) Solberg of Bournemouth, UK, 2 stepdaughters Carissa (Sean) O’Connor and Kat (Nick) Rose both of Middletown, OH. 6 grandchildren Stella Solberg, Miles Wabiszewski, Kaia Wabiszewski, Alex O’Connor, Aiden Malott and Dylan Malott. He is also survived by his brother, Charles (Margaret) Solberg of St. Paul, MN and his sister, Mary (John) Christensen of Bailys Harbor, WI, niece Kristin, nephews Joseph (Taylor) Christensen and Thomas (Megan) Christensen.
James was a Grammy Nominated, 2 Time WC Handy Award winner and left a huge legacy with his extensive Blues Music Career as well the many Antique Indian and Harley Davidson Motorcycles he returned to the road.
James loved his family, friends and this big, beautiful country! There will be a celebration of his life at his home near Middletown, OH on July 4, 2026.
His Funeral will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2026 at 11:00 am at Holden Lutheran Parish, N10037 Cty. Rd. M Colfax, WI 54730, Don Knutson S.A.M. officiating with burial following in Holden Cemetery adjacent to the church.
