Donna Lee Newman Zwingler, 75, passed away on February 20, 2026, in Delaware, OH.
Born on October 1, 1950, in Cleveland, OH, Donna was the daughter of the late James Newman and Barbara Murphy Newman.
Donna is survived by her three daughters: Laurie Lynn Dunham and her husband Jamey of Ohio, along with their children, Sam and Zoey; Holly Michelle Kane and her husband Michael of North Carolina, along with their daughters, Faith and Nia; and her youngest daughter, Kristen Abby Zwingler, of North Carolina. She is also survived by her two brothers, Gary Newman and his wife Kathy, and their children, Matt, Jackie, and Chad; and Chris Newman and his wife Nancy.
Donna attended Cleveland Heights High School and then Kent State University, where she majored in Fashion Merchandising. She enjoyed sewing and making some clothing for her daughters when they were young.
After staying home to raise her children for many years, Donna later taught preschool and worked with her brothers at the family’s outdoor sporting goods store, Newman Outfitters. She loved reading, walking, and the outdoors. In her younger years, she enjoyed rollerblading, hiking, and sunny days on Sanibel Island. Donna had a wonderful sense of humor and appreciated life’s simple pleasures, including Coke floats, warm weather, and a good book. She also had a special love for animals, especially dogs, which brought her great happiness.
Donna will be remembered for her warm and independent spirit, her desire to help others, her humor, strength, and the kindness she showed to those around her. Her memory remains with her family and the friends who shared in her life.
