Adrian Weatherford Vandenbout's Obituary
Adrian Weatherford Vandenbout, a beloved son, friend, and vibrant spirit, passed away on May 26, 2025, in Columbus, Ohio, at the age of 34. He was born on February 16, 1991, in Brooklyn, New York.
Adrian was a graduate of Greenwich High School, class of 2009. He furthered his education at Ohio University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology between 2009 and 2014. During his time at Ohio University, Adrian was a founding member of the Epsilon Chapter of the Sigma Pi fraternity, forging lifelong bonds and memories. His professional journey included roles as an Inside Sales Account Manager at Univar Solutions from 2019 up until his passing. During this time he also worked at a local wine shop where he took pleasure in sharing his expertise and passion for wine with others. Prior to this, Adrian served as a Major Account Representative at Cass Information Systems from 2018 to 2019, and as an Account Manager at Smith & Leavitt Insurance Services from 2014 to 2018.
Adrian was known for his positive personality and adventurous spirit. He was always ready to try something new. Spending time with friends was important to him and he remained steadfast in his friendships throughout all phases of his life. A great storyteller, Adrian had a way of captivating those around him. He was also a natural learner who was always eager to explore new subjects, quickly grasping and often mastering them. He found joy in exploring new restaurants, always eager to savor cuisines from the farthest corners of the world. His boundless energy found its perfect outlet in the great outdoors, where he enjoyed camping, whitewater rafting, hiking, hunting, sporting clays, fishing, and snowboarding. Among his other passions were traveling, wine history, live music, golf, tennis, bowling, ping pong, hockey, photography, hi-fi audio, and grilling meats, but above all, he will be remembered for his devotion to those around him.
Adrian is survived by his loving parents, Alice Weatherford and Tom Vandenbout, his stepmother, Brenda Nelson, and his grandparents, Paul and Rachel Vandenbout. A celebration of life will take place on Sunday, July 13th at 2pm at Jeffrey Mansion to honor Adrian's memory. This event is open to all. Guests are encouraged to come prepared to share their favorite stories or memories of Adrian. For those who wish, flowers may be directed to Jeffrey Mansion on the day of the celebration of life event.
