William (Bill) H. Immell
William H. Immell, age 82, passed away Friday, April 7,2023, after a brief illness. He leaves behind his loving wife of almost 60 years Myra H. Immell; devoted son Seth Alan Immell (Tara); and cherished grandchildren, Sean and Ian Immell.
Son of the late William F. and Dorotha Immell, Bill was a native of Chillicothe, Ohio. He attended Ohio University, where he was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity. He also was a member of the OU Rifle team. During his youth Bill won awards and medals for his prowess with a rifle.
He graduated from OU in 1963 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. Shortly after graduation, he and his wife moved to New Jersey, where he earned his CPA license. During his tenure with a CPA firm in NJ, Bill built and introduced firm members to relevant data bases. He also spent several years servicing clients in New York City.
In 1969, Bill and his family moved back to Ohio, where he served as a CPA until his retirement in 2019.
Bill had many interests. He enjoyed many kinds of music. In his youth. he played a saxophone. As an adult, he was a long-time member of the Dublin Singers, a highly respected local choral group. He also was exceptionally passionate about tennis, which he learned to play as a youth. In adulthood, as a member of a local Racquet Club, he played in and helped win numerous doubles tournaments statewide.
He was a skilled amateur photographer whose travel and pet photos grace the walls of his home where they have been admired by many friends and family members.
Bill also was an early adopter of digital technology and a lifelong avid reader with eclectic interests. He especially enjoyed books and articles about the Civil War and World War II. Over time, he managed to build a home library dedicated to those areas of history.
Above all, Bill was an animal lover. When young, he kept rabbits and had a dog. Over the years, he enjoyed having the companionship of generations of dogs and cats, all of which he spoiled.
His wife and son welcome family and friends to celebrate his life on April 26 between 4 pm and 7 pm in the Burgundy Room of the Makoy Center, 5462 Center Street, Hilliard, Ohio.
