Suzanne F. Jacunski's Obituary
Suzanne F. Jacunski (1934 - 2026)
Suzanne F. Jacunski, age 92, long-time resident of North Olmsted, Ohio, passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home near Columbus, Ohio, on the morning of May 27, 2026. She was surrounded by her loving children during the last weeks and days of her life.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Virginia Mace Fish and John Beekman Fish; her husband, M. William Jacunski; and her grandson, Jay Jacunski.
Sue is survived by her daughter: Linda Worster; her four sons and their wives or partner: Matthew (Betsy), Mark (Rebecca), John (Karla), and Paul (Jennifer); 15 grandchildren: Dottie (Alex), Hank (McKenzie), Hanna (Carter), Charlotte, Phil (Bria), Abigail (Ivan), Deena, Alyssa (David), Michael (Kelly), Andrew, Kyle (Phallen), Josh (Cameryn), Dodson (Taylor), Hunter, and Carly; and two great-grandchildren: Kayden and Aliyiah.
Born on April 16, 1934 in New York City, Sue was the only child of Virginia and John. She graduated from Forest Hills HS in Queens in 1952 and then worked as a secretary for American Cyanamid, the same company as her father and future husband. Sue and Bill were introduced by a mutual friend at a company ski weekend - probably the first and last time she ever skied!
A devoted wife and mother, Sue was all about her family. She and Bill always wanted a large family, and so had five children in the five years from 1962 - 1967. Sue was intimately involved in her children’s lives, attending many, many soccer, football, basketball, and softball games, band concerts, and theater productions. She volunteered as a Cub Scout Den Mother, Brownie troop leader, Girl Scout Cookie Coordinator, and a helper at St. Richard’s Elementary School and the annual St. Ignatius Scholarship Drive. Sue and Bill were long-time members of St. Richard Catholic Church where Sue was President of the Ladies’ Guild for several years.
Sue was an avid card player. In her younger years, she was a member of multiple bridge groups, including a couples group with Bill (a significant test of any marriage!). She played cards with her children right up until the end, even with her fading memory.
A funeral mass in Sue’s honor will be celebrated on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at St. Richard Catholic Church at 10 AM. The burial will follow at Sunset Cemetery. Both are in North Olmsted.
