Steven Swartz's Obituary
Steven R. Swartz was born December 27, 1952 to the late Harry Jr. and Dorothy (Rose) Swartz. He died Monday, August 9, 2021 at his home in Columbus.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Swartz and his Father and Mother in law, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Dent.
He is survived by his wife Emma (Dent) Swartz. Also survived by his sons, Chris Swartz of Hilliard, Sean Swartz of Hilliard, sister Helen Clawson (Art) of Reynoldsburg, sister Pam Wheeler (Jerry) of Pataskala, and sister Lois Rose of Westerville.Two grandchildren and a plethora of nieces, nephews and cousins.
After working as a contracted painter in California, he contracted to paint houses in Upper Arlington and also worked for B&A Paints in Columbus. He retired from The OSU Wexner Medical Center in 2018 after 28 years of service. He had worked in Facilities Engineering as a Painter and then moved to Information Technology as a Voice Technician and later a PC Analyst.
He most enjoyed family, pets, reading fantasy themed books, gaming, watching professional racing, constructing models, Star Trek anything and later learned cross stitch. Earlier in his life, he enjoyed playing the guitar and writing poetry.
"Celebration of Life Mingle" will be held Saturday, Sept 18, 3pm to 6pm, at the Buckeye Boat Club, 6510 Walnut Valley Dr., Galena, Ohio 43021. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Colony Cats and (Dogs) or the World Wild Life Fund.
