Stephen Niemiec, 95, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2025, in Dublin, Ohio, surrounded by family. Steve was born on November 23, 1929, in Toledo, Ohio, to Joseph and Victoria (Hajduk) Niemiec. He graduated from Woodward High School, class of 1947. Steve served honorably in the Navy Reserves as a BMGSN (Boatswain's Mate Seaman), from January 1951 to January 1959, dedicating 8 years of service to his country. Steve married his wife, Marjorie Ann (Kwiatkowski), on May 1, 1954, and together they were married for 70 years, until Marjorie's passing on May 28, 2024.
For 33 years Steve worked for the City of Toledo in various roles including as a weights and measures inspector and consumer protection, retiring in 1996. In addition, Steve worked as stage manager at the Stranahan Theater (fka Masonic Temple) in South Toledo for over 40 years, where he enjoyed the productions and meeting many celebrities. He was a member of the Toledo Ski Club and enjoyed skiing at many places around the country. Steve also enjoyed taking senior trips and cruises with his wife, riding his bicycle, doing yardwork, and perhaps his biggest passion watching old movies. You seldom would find Steve without a cap on his head regardless of whether he was at home or elsewhere. Steve very much enjoyed times with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
