Stephen Patrick Gleason's Obituary
Stephen Patrick Gleason of Urbancrest, Ohio passed away unexpectedly on September 4, 2025 at his home. He was 56.
Steve was born on July 23, 1969 to Jerry and Janice (Biagini) Gleason at Mt. Carmel West in Columbus, OH.
He graduated from Franklin Heights High School in Columbus in 1987. Soon after graduating, he met his wife Teresa (Harris) to whom he was married December 4, 1993 and went on to be a father of two sons whom he loved more than anything.
Steve was the most tender-hearted, caring, soft spoken guy you would ever want to meet. His family called him “Switzerland” because he got along with everyone. His mother would always say of him, “Steve’s such a good boy.” He also was a big animal lover. He had an extensive aquarium at one time, a bird, many dogs and cats. He loved to cook. Steve was a foodie. He was also a huge OSU fan and loved the Buckeyes. Growing up he spent many weekends and summers with his Grandpa and Grandma Gleason along with his sister. They were the best of times.
Steve was a car guy. His life was spent working around, tinkering with, and detailing cars. At age 14, he even taught his older sister Diane how to drive a stick shift. His first job at age 18 was Classic Cars VW Mazda on West Broad Street where he was a wash attendant. For many years, he worked at numerous central Ohio dealerships including Columbus Cadillac, Germain Cadillac, Germain Lexus of Easton, Germain Mazda, Patriot Motors and Truck Sales, and many on other dealerships. He spent some time as a Service Writer but his talent was car detailing and he was the best. Detailing cars is where life would lead him as he started his own business called Steve’s Shine Shop in 2019. Steve would detail everything from sports cars to semi-trucks. He had also just started working part time for Greenway Waste and Recycling when the detailing business would occasionally slow.
Steve is survived by his wife Teresa, sons Bradley and Branden, his siblings Michael, Christopher, his best friend and only sister, Diane (Gleason) Frank, Matthew (Brandy) Gleason, Uncle Butch, Aunt Debra Biagini, cousins, numerous nieces and nephews and many close friends.
Steve is preceded in death by his parents, Jerry and Janice Gleason, grandparents Foster and Clearinda Biagini, grandparents Thomas (Tom) and Martha Gleason.
A celebration of life will be announced soon. Plan on wearing your OSU Buckeye gear.
