Shirley and I met at McDonald’s years ago and spent every morning and later afternoon sitting there hanging out together. She often went to dinner with my husband Paul and me on Sunday night. I talked to her in the fall. I had sent her several cards and emails after that. I was shocked to hear of her passing and have truly lost a best friend. Although I have not met her children and grandchildren I feel like I know them. I send my condolences. My prayers are with the family. Please know that I care.

I just found this out, Shirley lived in Beavercreek and was always joining a bunch of us at the local McDonalds. She was funny, personable, caring, a strong lady, and loved by many. It was so hard when she moved to Dublin and only a couple of her friends here in Beavercreek were able to make the trip to see her. We were heartbroken to learn of her passing today and will miss her all that much more. We have truly lost a good soul and friend who will be greatly missed.

I had the honor and privilege to know Shirley at the Sanctuary. Shirley was an amazing person. She was filled with love. When someone would get upset about something. Shirley would tell me, “why, get upset over the little things? Life’s to short enjoy it” I loved it when she was my euchre player. We both enjoyed just playing. We didn’t care who won. We enjoyed the stories and laughter. She adored her children and grandchildren. She was very excited about the new addition coming in February. She would tell me stores about her children and grandchildren. Shirley is missed. My deepest condolences.

Sorry to the family for their loss. Aunt Shirley was always a joy to be around. I was fortunate enough to be around her often with her friend, Pat McCormick, my grandma. They always had a great time together and I’ll think of them sharing a glass of wine together now.

Shirley was my dad's best friend at the sanctuary at Tuttle. We had the pleasure of meeting her a few years ago when my dad moved there. What a huge difference she made in his life. She brought so much joy to him and me and I'm sure many others. Whenever I would visit dad, I always said hi to Shirley and she always had a big smile on her face. She would always say OH then I would say IO since she was such a big Ohio State fan. That will always make us think of her. To the family of Shirley I am so sorry for your loss , it was a pleasure knowing her.
