Scott P. Collins' Obituary
Scott P. Collins, 9/28/1957-8/21/2024 beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home in Dublin, Ohio, after a 23 month long hard fight against Stage 4 Bladder Cancer on August 21, 2024, surrounded by his wife and son Bryce. Scott was born in Columbus on September 28, 1957.
Scott was born with a passion for life that he carried with him through every chapter. He graduated from Upper Arlington High School in 1976, excelling as a high jumper for the Golden Bear Track Team. His talent and dedication on the field were only matched by his kind and supportive nature. He also attended Franklin University to hone his project management skills.
Scott embarked on a successful career with Nationwide Insurance, dedicating over 30 years as a technology project manager. His colleagues knew him as a diligent and thoughtful leader who always found the balance between precision and kindness.
In retirement, Scott discovered what he often described as the "best job of his life"—driving a school bus for the Dublin City School District. He cherished the daily interactions with the students and took pride in ensuring their safety and well-being on the road. His warmth and steady presence left a lasting impact on many young lives.
Scott's life was defined by his love for his family, THE Ohio State Buckeyes, his pets, his dedication to his work, the joy he found in simple moments, and his ever-present sense of humor. He loved hiking and taking pictures in the Hocking Hills and visiting Mount Washington in New Hampshire. Scott even hiked part of the Appalachian trails through New Hampshire back in the 80’s. He was also, avid cyclist in his younger years. He did TOSRV down to Portsmouth, OH. Scott loved watching his beloved Buckeyes and the Big10 college football Saturdays and Bengals on Sundays!
He will be deeply missed by his family, all who knew him and a community of friends and colleagues who will forever remember his kindness, humor, and gentle spirit.
Scott is survived by his devoted wife of 25 years, Robyn; his loving son, Bryce Collins, his brother, Tim (Kathy) Collins of The Villages Florida; Mother-in-law Roberta A. Trell, of Columbus, OH; BIL & SIL Shawn (Amy) Trell & Family of Hermosa Beach, CA; Former SIL Julie (Steve) Stuck & Family of McHenry, MD.
Scott was very proud of all his Nieces & Nephews. Mason (Caroline) Collins, Crested Butte, CO; Mallory (Dan) Whitt, Midlothian, VA; great niece/nephew, Collins & Wyatt Whitt; Aaron Trell,Tempe, AZ; Audrey, Trell, Santa Monica, CA. Aunts & Uncles & Cousins Wonderful Aunt Joy Tonneman, Blacklick, OH (who played a big role in his life when he was a baby), Aunt Julia DeWitt, Blairsville, GA; Sharon & Craig Clark, Loudon, TN. Cousins: Mike (Dorothy) Collins & Family, Columbus OH, Teresa Collins Columbus, OH, Julie (Gary) Willer Blairsville GA, Lisa (Dan) Cutler Vero Beach, FL; Ken (Cathy) Davis, Columbus, OH.

Scott preceded in death by his father Kenneth Patrick Collins, his mother Nancy Dewitt Collins. Father-in-law Dr. Eugene Trell
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a local charity supporting youth sports programs, a cause close to Scott's heart.
