Roberta L. Brenenstuhl's Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of Roberta L. Brenenstuhl announces her passing on November 22nd, 2020 at the age of 77. Known as Bobbi by her family and friends, Roberta will be lovingly remembered by her brother Daniel and his family, who all live in Phoenix, AZ, as well as her many friends. She is predeceased by her parents, Julia and Robert Brenenstuhl, and her beloved dogs.
Roberta received her undergraduate degree in Special Education from Miami University (Ohio) and her Master’s degree in Special Education from The Ohio State University.
Roberta was a lifelong teacher who began her teaching career in 1965 working on Lanai Island, Hawaii. It was undeveloped and dominated by a Dole pineapple farm. She was hired by the Dole company to teach the children of the workers on the farm. From Hawaii, Roberta moved to Greenwich, Connecticut and continued to teach elementary aged students, returning to teaching special education for a number of years in Connecticut.
In the early 1970’s, Roberta moved to the Columbus area, where she would remain until the end of her life. She taught for many years for the Ohio school system, teaching at Finland Elementary and Brookpark Middle School. Outside of teaching, Roberta loved animals, especially dogs, reading on the beach in Hawaii, and traveling the world.
Due to COVID 19, there will be no services at this time. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Memorial Donations may be made in Roberta L. Brenenstuhl’ s name to the Columbus Humane Society.
