Richard Burton Truog's Obituary
On Tuesday, July 27, 2021, Richard B. Truog, loving father of his two sons Austin and Eric Truog, passed away at the age of 69. Richard was born on February 7, 1952, in Kent, OH to Betty and Randle Truog. Richard’s proudest achievement was being a father and raising his two boys with their mother, Janet. His kind and compassionate spirit, caring nature, and sense of adventure will be remembered. Richard’s love for cycling took him to countries around the world and gave him an appreciation for the simple things in life. He volunteered for many causes and was dedicated to helping the less fortunate. He was especially passionate about advocating for all with special needs.
Richard was preceded in death by his mother, Betty, and father, Randle. He is survived by his sons Austin and Eric (Kristin), his brother Bill (Julie), and many nieces and nephews. Donations can be sent to Life Builders, the day program that Austin attends that provides incredible care to adults with special needs:
