Richard Clark Omohundro's Obituary
Richard (Dick) C. Omohundro, Sr. passed away Saturday July 2, 2022, at home surrounded by family. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife Linda of 48 years, his siblings Herschel, Margaret, Robert, and Sharon (Frank) Mangini, children Deborah Hern, Randal, and Eric (Megan), grandchildren Mark Omohundro, Charles (Samantha) and Tabatha Hern, and great-grandchildren Magali, Azrael, and Ethan. He is predeceased by parents Herschel and Esther Omohundro, brother Russell, and sons Richard, Jr. and Kenneth. A special thank you to his niece Amy Hatchell and Brookdale Hospice for all their care and support in his final days.
Dick was born in Columbus and graduated from Grandview Heights High School and The Ohio State University. He was an MP in the US Army during the Korean War. He served in many charitable organizations such as SERTOMA and the Stowe Center. A dedicated Christian, Dick was a long time member of The Crossing Community Church (formerly Lane Avenue Baptist) being involved in many ways, including as deacon and treasurer.
Dick was self-employed as a CPA, serving businesses throughout the city. He enjoyed Buckeye football games, golf, and hot air balloons. He was an avid traveler, particularly camping, cruises, and Roundups with the Texas Jack Association.
A memorial service will be held at The Crossing Community Church, 4770 Britton Pkwy, Columbus, OH, at 11:00 am, on Friday, July 8, 2022, with visitation at 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Stowe Mission of Central Ohio and The Crossing Community Church.
