Richard John "Rick" Intemann's Obituary
Richard John “Rick” Intemann , passed away on Thursday, November 10, 2022.
Rick was originally from New York City. With survival odds of 10 – 12 months at diagnosis, Rick left us after a courageous seven-year battle with esophageal cancer. He managed to beat the odds over and again as the cancer advanced and receded through the years.
He is survived by his wife Kim Porfido , his sons Ricky and Kevin Intemann, daughter Sarah Intemann-Steele, while also leaving behind brothers Bill and Joe Intemann and sister Laurie Grzan. Five granddaughters, Raika, Sabene, Claire, Marley, and Marina were the pride and joy in his later years.
For much of his working life, Rick was an employee of the federal government in Dayton and Columbus, Ohio as a defense electronics technician, a job he very much enjoyed, and received numerous special recognitions for. His real passion, though, was music. Rick was a talented musician, guitar player and singer. He loved making music, almost as much as he loved his family, and he played and performed with numerous local and regional groups through the years.
Rick lived a long and full life and was able to maintain a sense of good cheer pretty much to the end. People were proud to call him their friend, and thankful for being part of his life.
Donations in his memory may be sent to the James Cancer Center at Ohio State University in Columbus Ohio
