Richard William Ansel's Obituary
Richard William Ansel, 83 years old, born December 13, 1941, passed into his heavenly home from his earthly home on Saturday, October 25, 2025, after an 8-month battle with cancer. He worked at Johnson’s Industrial Caterers for 55+ years as a caterer, supervisor, and after retirement, a delivery driver. He is survived by his wife of 59+ years, Verna Louise Ansel (Martin), daughter Cindy (Randy) Thompson, son Kemper (Susan) Ansel, and sister Cheryl Ansel. His loving family also included grandchildren Abbey (Michael) Knott, Adam Ansel, Jordan Galindo, Jarod Galindo, and Jayson Galindo. Also included in his family is sister-in-law, Beverly Martin, nephew Matthew (Sharon) Martin, niece Kim Long, nephew Tim (Marsha) Long, and his special doggie girls, Maggie and Katie.
Richard was a dedicated member of Life in Christ Fellowship, where he was a trustee and a member of the choir. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Wanda and William (Bill) Ansel and sisters Rita Long and Carmen Luce.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 1 at Life in Christ Fellowship, 500 SR 142 NE, West Jefferson, OH 43162 with visitation at 10:30 a.m. followed by the Service led by Pastor Bob Steinbrecher at 11:00 a.m. Memorials may be given in his name to Life in Christ Fellowship or the Hospice organization. Cremation will be taken care of by Buckeye Cremation of Schoedinger, Columbus, OH.
