Patrick Joseph Cleary III's Obituary
Patrick Cleary, age 77, from Pickerington, Ohio, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones.
Patrick was one of 12 children born to Patrick J. Cleary II and Ruth Ware Cleary.
Patrick was a loving husband to his wife of 56 years, a loving father, grandfather (AKA Grumpy Bear), and great-grandfather.
Patrick was proceeded in death by his grandson Patrick J. Cleary V, three of his sisters, and his parents.
He is survived by the love of his life Christine Nebel Cleary: their children Patrick (Michele) Cleary IV, Brigid (Jason) Lott, and Gavin (Christine) Cleary: grandchildren Sam (Marie Stenson), Ashlee (Jake) Hockenberry, Mackenzie (Spencer) Williams, Killian (Karley) Lott, Quintin (Addison Icenhour) Lott, Aidan Cleary, and Adrian Farmer: and great-grandchildren Adeline Stenson, Layne Lott, Anakin Williams, and Palmer Williams: several siblings, in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
He was a 1965 graduate of St Charles Preparatory School and attended The Ohio State University before joining The United States Marine Corps. After the Marine Corps he worked as an air traffic controller.
He was a long time member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton where he was a Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus. He was a member of The Shamrock Club, where he proudly celebrated his Irish heritage. Patrick was a founding member of the original Pickerington Youth Soccer Association. He enjoyed coaching and refereeing his children and grandson's soccer teams when they were young and then moving up to coaching the Pickerington High School boys soccer team. As well as coaching baseball and softball with PYAA.
