Patricia Ely's Obituary
Patricia Ely (King), age 89, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2024. Born on November 13, 1934, in Caldwell, Ohio, Patricia spent the majority of her adult life in Grandview Heights. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 49 years, Jack Ely; her parents, Lillie and Clifford King; her brothers, Jack, Lloyd, Clifford, and Donald; and her sisters, Margaret and Leila.
Patricia is survived by her loving sons, John (Debbie) Ely and Douglas Ely, as well as her sister, Linda Krohn (King).
Patricia dedicated many years of her professional life to the banking industry, beginning her career in the late 1950s at Main Federal Savings and Loan. Through her hard work and dedication, she achieved the title of Assistant Vice President. Later in life, Patricia embraced a new challenge by transitioning into teaching computing at the Metropolitan Education Council, where she inspired many students with her knowledge and passion for education.
An avid reader, Patricia found great joy in spending time at the library, surrounded by books and immersed in stories. Her love for reading was a testament to her lifelong curiosity and quest for knowledge.
Patricia will be remembered for her dedication to her family, her contributions to the banking and education sectors, and her unwavering love of learning. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, perseverance, and a deep appreciation for the written word.
A private service will be held for close family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Grandview Heights Public Library in Patricia's memory.
