Nathel Lou Kimbler's Obituary
Nathel Lou Kimbler, daughter of James and Matilda Mollett, went home to be the Lord on Saturday, September 14, 2024. Nathel passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family. Nathel was a strong, independent woman, full of sass and spitfire. With a gentle loving heart, she raised a son into a man. A son she would defend, protect and love until the very end.
Nathel was born in March of 1948 and raised in Eastern Kentucky. In her early years she took great pride in helping to care for her 8 brothers and sisters. She moved to Columbus, OH, at the age of 16 and married Harold David Kimbler in July 1968. Together, they celebrated the birth of their only child Michael in September of 1972.
She worked as a switchboard operator at the Great Southern Hotel in downtown Columbus. Nathel was also a production line worker at Westinghouse and a Quality Control Supervisor at HFI. A well deserved retirement followed in 2007 after many years of service and hard work. She had a strong work ethic and took pride in whatever she did, both personally and professionally.
She enjoyed vacationing at the beaches along the Eastern Coast and in the scenic cities of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, with many stops along the way. She had a love of country music and spent many consecutive years at Jamboree in the Hills with her good friend, Dixie. Most of all, Nathel enjoyed spending time with her family, family reunions and being a Nana to her 2 cherished grandsons, Cameron and Cole.
She is preceded in death by her parents James “Jake” Mollett and Matilda (Waller) Mollett as well as her brother Earl Mollett, sister-in-law Julie Mollette and husband Harold David Kimbler. She is survived by her beloved son, Michael Kimbler (Desiree) and grandsons Cameron and Cole Kimbler, as well as her remaining siblings: Don Mollette Sr. (Jane) of Ashland, KY, Ronnie Mollette (Frances) of Grove City, OH, Vernon Mollette (Rita) of Wabash, IN, Denver Mollett of Ashland, KY, Damon Mollette of Webbville, KY, Gloria Gilliam (Rick) of Blaine, KY, Cassie Barker (Danny) of Louisa, KY. Also survived by many nieces and nephews, and friend of many years, Brady.
A graveside memorial service will be held at Sunset Cemetery in Galloway, Ohio on Saturday, September 28th at 11:30 a.m. Following the service, family and close friends are gathering at The Paddock Pub in Groveport, Ohio for a celebration and remembrance of her life and love. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The James Cancer Hospital, in memory of Nathel (Lou) Kimbler.
