Monroe Slone, III's Obituary
Monroe “Jeff” Slone, III was born June 8, 1953 and passed away peacefully on February 24, 2022 from complications of renal cancer at Grant Medical Center. He is survived by his sons, Michael (Mary), Joshua (Diana), and Benjamin Slone; grandchildren, Summer, Michael (Emily), Brooklyn, Zachary, and Hailey; and siblings, Paul Slone, Flora (John) Johnson, David (Hyda) Slone, and Joy (Vince) Ciammaco. He is preceded in death by his parents, Monroe “JR” (Eula) Slone and Betty (Larry) Waddell. Jeff was a hard working family man. He was a devoted minister of the good news of God’s Kingdom as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses; serving in a servant’s capacity in his congregation for more than three decades. He loved the outdoors and enjoying creation. Jeff particularly enjoyed trips out West but if there were hills and big trees, he was happy to be there. His hobbies included hiking and deer hunting but nothing was more important than family and sharing his faith with others. Jeff was a 43 year member of the Union of Operating Engineers and served as a parts planner for Kokosing Construction for 27 year, retiring in 2021. He will be missed not only by his large family but by former co-workers and a very large spiritual family who will be waiting for him in the resurrection. A memorial service will be held via Zoom at 7:30p.m. Friday, March 4, 2022; Robbie Clark officiating. Contact Josh Slone at (614) 578-1044 for details concerning the memorial service.
