Meg Ann Yeamans' Obituary
Meg Ann Yeamans, age 83, passed away April 17, 2023 in her home surrounded by love. She was born in 1939 to the late Willis H Yeamans and Edythe (McKim) Yeamans. Along with her parents, she was proceeded in death by her brother Willis H Yeamans Jr. She grew up in Royal Oak, MI graduating from Royal Oak High School in 1957. She received both her BS in Biology and MA in Counselor Education from the University of Michigan. Meg was a proud member of the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority and enjoyed a sisterhood with fellow Zetas her entire life. That was the theme of Meg’s life journey, long lasting meaningful friendships. She had an enthusiastic joy that was contagious. Meg will be remembered by family and friends for her bright, warm smile and intrinsic positivity.
Meg was the mother of Kelly (Phil) Bulinski and Kaye Burns. She raised her daughters in Brecksville/Broadview Heights, Ohio and spent her career as a vocational school counselor where she valued her work with high school students. Meg loved to cook, garden, get lost in books, entertain, take walks/hikes with her dogs, and to travel. She valued time spent in conversation with friends and being in nature. Most of all, she loved being active and sports! There wasn’t a sport Meg didn’t enjoy either playing or watching. Meg was a devoted Wolverine, as her “The Victors” ringtone let everyone know. She grew up riding horses, playing ice hockey, and swimming. She fell in love with tennis as an adolescent and was a member of her high school cheerleading team. Later in life, Meg found cycling. She started riding her bike to work, then participating in organized bike rides. At age 60, she completed Cycle America; starting her ride on the pacific coast, biking and camping for nine weeks across the country to finish on the Atlantic coast.
Upon retirement, Meg relocated to Brevard, NC and enjoyed 20 years hiking and biking the mountains. Meg could also be found spending time in Wolfeboro, NH hiking & biking in the white mountains and floating on the lake. When the mountains became challenging in her late 70’s, she took off to Ponte Vedra, FL for flatter biking ground. While in FL, she enjoyed new friendships, continued to play tennis, swim, and got caught up in the pickleball craze.
Meg made her final move to the Columbus, OH area in her early 80’s to be closer to family. Family was always a priority for Meg and the joys of her life were her three grandchildren Dani (Kit) Bulinski, Ashley (Dane) Fritz and Nick Bulinski. Meg (Nana) instilled in her grandchildren a love of nature, travel, and valuing experiences. She was a source of unconditional love and support for them. Meg was also given the experience of becoming a great-grandmother to Aiden Fritz, Charlotte Fritz and Adrienne Bulinski-Mook.
