Margaret Mary Sulek's Obituary
Margaret Mary Sulek, 85, died Sunday June 5, 2022 in Delaware, OH after a long battle with cardiac illness.
Margaret was born April 6, 1937, in Martin’s Ferry, Ohio, and was a daughter of the late William and Alice Orzolek.
Margaret graduated in 1955 from St. John High School and worked at Ohio Bell as an operator, founded a successful ceramics business, and later worked at a vending company before retiring. She was a hard worker, cared about the people she worked with, and always took pride, with a personal touch, in her work. She enjoyed many hobbies, among them creating ceramic pieces for family and friends, bowling, and playing cards.
She was happily married to the love of her life, Michael Charles Sulek, for 64 years until his passing last August. Margaret had two sons, four grandsons, and a granddaughter, all of whom she loved dearly. She was happiest spending time with her family and celebrating holidays together.
Later in life Margaret enjoyed casino bus trips, playing the slots, shopping, tending to her Facebook Farm, connecting with friends & relatives, binge-watching Netflix shows, cooking, and playing games with her grandchildren. She loved watching figure skating and was an avid collector of Beanie Babies, Fiestaware, & travel souvenirs. She had a particular love for tigers & hummingbirds, and always had a treat and kind attention ready for the family pets.
She was a devout, loving, mother who cherished her children dearly, welcomed new members into the family with open arms, couldn’t be more proud of her grandchildren, and never missed an opportunity to tell them so. A special person with an incredibly warm heart, she personified her generation and lived her life by it’s high standards. She worked hard, loved her family, respected others, and did her best in every situation. She will be deeply missed.
Margaret is survived by her sons, Michael W. (Margie) Sulek of South Haven, Miss. and Mark A. (Sherri) Sulek, of Delaware, Ohio; her sister-in-law Kathleen Sulek of Wheeling, W.Va.; four grandchildren, Neil (Kelly), Marisa, Samuel, Mark, and many extended family members.
Margaret was preceded in death by her sister & brother-in-law, parents, grandson, and husband.
Per Margaret’s wishes she will be cremated and there will be no public funeral or memorial service. One of Margaret’s final wishes was that her family be kept in everyone’s hearts and prayers.
