Lucy Marie Davis' Obituary
Lucy Marie Davis, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 16, 2025, in Columbus, Ohio, at the age of 69.
Born to Leslie and Ethel Hughes on June 17, 1956, Lucy dedicated her life to caring for others. She served the community faithfully through her career with the State of Ohio, and even after retirement, continued that mission by working with Senior Independence and Park Rehab—supporting and uplifting older adults with compassion and grace.
Lucy also helped start and build several local churches in the Columbus area. Her faith, generosity, and unwavering dedication left a lasting impact on countless lives. She was selfless to the core, always putting others before herself and living out her values in everything she did.
She was an avid Buckeye football fan and found peace in the beauty of the ocean—both reflections of her vibrant spirit and love for life.
Lucy is survived by her loving husband, Walter Davis; daughters, Cassie and Christina Davis; and four cherished granddaughters, Brooklyn, Aleah, Dakota, and Emersyn Davis. She is also survived by her sisters, Patricia Price (Terry) and LuAnn Dobek (David); brother, Les Hughes Jr. (Danielle); sister-in-law, Kathie Hughes; and her best friend, Carol Cupp. She leaves behind many nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends who will forever remember her warmth, wisdom, and kindness.
Lucy is preceded in death by her parents, Leslie and Ethel Hughes, and brother, William Hughes.
A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held at Grace Fellowship Church, 3600 N Waggoner Rd, Blacklick, OH 43004, on Saturday, September 13, 2025. Visitation will begin at 5:30 PM, followed by a service at 6:30 PM.
