Lorraine P. Thompson's Obituary
Lorraine P. Thompson, 59 of Columbus, OH passed away suddenly on November 23, 2024. She was born on Good Friday, on April 16,1965 in Columbus, Ohio to Thomas and Jeannine (DeShetler) Thompson.
Shortly after being born, Lori and family moved to Toledo, Ohio, where she enjoyed her childhood. When she was a teenager, her family relocated to Cape Coral, Florida where she finished her high school education. Lori loved all sports as a kid and played high school basketball and tennis for the high schools she attended in Ohio and Florida. Lori graduated from Cape Coral high school in 1983. After high school, Lori worked in the hospitality industry for many years before moving back to Columbus Ohio to be closer to family and friends. There, she worked in maintenance for Village Green for several year and then retired from Kroger after many years of employment with them. Lori was an incredibly kind and generous soul and was known as the neighbor that would help anyone and make everyone feel special. She took meals to housebound neighbors and to the homeless at homeless camps. She had a special love for feral cats, several of whom became pets. As Lori was fond of saying, “I didn’t choose them as a pet, they chose me as their human.” Lori was very creative and made all her greeting cards and many of the gifts given to friends and family. She was the eternal optimist that had only good things to say about anyone and always had a smile on her face.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Jeannine Thompson, sisters, Judy McCall and Carolyn Fowler. She is survived by brother Thomas (Tee) and wife, Casey Thompson, sister Cathy and husband, Paul Lovallo, brother Doug Thompson, sister Nancy and husband, Don Jillisky, Greg and wife, Barb Thompson and Andy Thompson as well as many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
