Leo J. Hauck Jr.'s Obituary
Leo J. Hauck Jr., age 90, of Columbus, Ohio passed away peacefully with his family by his side on September 28, 2022. He was born on June 21, 1932. Leo was a graduate of St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Columbus, Ohio. He then served in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Valley Forge with this best friend Fred Howard during the Korean War. He was employed by the Columbus Fire Department until his retirement.
Leo was an avid hunter and bass fisherman competing in many bass tournaments throughout the United States. Leo is preceded in death by his parents, Inez (Messer) Hauck and Leo J. Hauck Sr., his sisters Sue Ellen (Mike) Jolley and Martha Beck. Leo is also survived by children Diana (Thomas) O'Brien, Linda Murray, John (Kimber) Hauck and David (Lina) Hauck. Grandchildren Thomas and Colleen O'Brien, Cassandra Hauck, Daniela and Pamela Hauck. Brother-in-law Michael Jolley and many nieces and nephews.
A special thanks to his close friends Frank Pempeck, John Fox and Justin Schofield and his neighbors the Mellars girls who helped care for him as well as the staff at Riverside Hospital who tirelessly cared for him and his family until the end. Leo's care was entrusted to Buckeye Cremation by Schoedinger. There will be a private burial at later date.
