Laura Lee Powers' Obituary
Laura Lee Powers, of Whitehall, Ohio, passed away on September 7, 2025.
Born December 28, 1955, Laura lived a life defined by kindness, generosity, and unwavering faith. She carried herself with grace and positivity, always trusting that things would unfold as they were meant to. With a heart that never stopped loving, she was truly an angel on earth.
From a young age, Laura cared for her four brothers while her mother worked, sparking what would become her life’s calling: caring for others. For nearly 20 years she devoted herself to babysitting, in addition to raising her own daughter. Later, she lovingly cared for her grandson while her daughter worked, and in time, her parents as well.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Gwendolyn Blaum; her brother, Timothy Blaum; her grandparents on both sides; several cousins; and her dearest friend, Dee Damron—a loss that remained heavy on her heart.
Laura is survived by her devoted husband, Wayne Powers; her daughter, Rachel (Jeremy) Powers-Tate; her cherished grandson, Ian Tate, who was the light of her life; her sweet dog Toby, her brothers Mike, Chris, and Joe; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
In Laura’s memory, may we honor her by showing kindness to others and remembering that each tomorrow is a brand new day.
