Larry Otto Wright's Obituary
Larry Otto Wright, 76, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at St. Ann’s Hospital in Westerville, Ohio. He was born on February 28, 1947 in Steubenville, Ohio. He is survived by his wife of more than 54 years, Jennifer Wright of Sunbury, OH. He is also survived by his two daughters, Elizabeth Wright (Duane Bradley) and Rebecca Yanni (Jason), both of Westerville, OH. He had 6 grandchildren: William, Julian, Olivia, Christian, Luca, and Gabriella. He is also survived by his two brothers, Richard Ankrum (Anita) of Toronto, OH and Dean Ankrum (Erin) of Wellsburg, WV. He is preceded in death by his mother Izetta Ankrum and father, Franklin Ankrum. He was a 1965 graduate of Wintersville High School where he played basketball. He briefly attended the Ohio State University before enlisting in the United States Air Force. He was stationed in Cambodia, Thailand, and Laos during the Vietnam War. He was also stationed in England where ultimately he met his bride, Jennifer, a British citizen. Larry worked at Weirton Steel and retired after 37 years of service. He coached his daughters in softball and loved watching them participate in their individual sports. He loved playing cards, socializing with friends, and listening to music. His most recent greatest pleasure was watching his grandchildren play sports as he relished in the role of being Pap Pap. His family wants to express their heart felt appreciation to the Delaware County EMS staff who responded and St. Ann’s hospital. Larry will be cremated.
