Larry Rutschilling's Obituary
Larry Rutschilling, 59 years old of Willowdell, Ohio, passed away November 20th, 2024 in Columbus, Ohio after battling Acute Myeloid Leukemia for 15 months surrounded by his loved ones. Larry was born April 9, 1965 to the late Elmer and Doris (Schulze) Rutschilling of Yorkshire. Larry was a 1984 Marion Local Graduate.
Larry is survived by his wife Tonya, whom he married October, 30th 2015. He is also survived by his children: Scott and Brittany Schulze of Fuquay Varina, North Carolina, Ashlie and Steve Geier of Ft. Recovery, Erik and Kelsey Rutschilling of Yorkshire, Megan and Adam Hoelscher of Minster, Megan Schulze of Fort Shawnee, Sara Schulze of Nelsonville; grandchildren: Landon, Luke, and Layne Schulze, Wesley, Troy, Morgan, and Alayna Geier, Cash Hoelscher, Isaiah Schulze and Ivie Pennington; siblings Nancy and Darrell Strunk, Deborah and Steve Bensman, Bonnie and Kevin Monnin, Steve and Anita Rutschilling; in-laws Tammy Puthoff and Dwayne (Teri) Puthoff; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Larry is preceded in death by granddaughter Eve Geier, brother-in-law Jim Boeckman, nephew Bruce Bensman, mother/father-in-law Margaret and Dwight Puthoff.
Larry had a passion for the outdoors, loving fishing, hunting, horseback riding, and sitting around a good campfire. Larry was a firefighter for 34 years with the Osgood Volunteer Fire Department. Larry never knew a stranger and loved spending time with family and friends.
In honor of Larry’s last wishes, instead of a funeral, there will be a Celebration of Life open house Saturday, November 23, 2024 at Ashlie and Steve Geier’s shop at 5597 St Rte 49, Ft. Recovery 2-6pm. Larry’s family invites all who loved him to join us in one last party honoring his life and the memories he leaves behind. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
A tree will be planted in his honor at his home. In honor of Larry and his love of being a volunteer fireman, a memorial contribution can be made to the Osgood Volunteer Fire Department.
