Larry Lee Israel-June 12, 1941 – May 27, 2024
On the evening of May 24, 2024, Larry Lee Israel (82) passed away peacefully at his home in Lewis Center OH, after a long battle with pulmonary fibrosis. He was born June 12, 1941 in Frankfort, IN, the son of James and Leota (Hefley) Israel.
He is survived by his beloved partner, Linda Webster; sons Donald W (Patricia) of Sebring Florida and Jeffrey A (Vangie) of Shawnee OK; one brother Donald D (Pat) of Shell Lake WI; two grandchildren Joshua Miller of IN and Krisha Creamer of TX; two great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was proceeded by 3 brothers, Eugene, John, and Robert, and one sister Elsie Carlin.
After serving four years as an aircraft mechanic in the US Air Force, he followed his lifelong love of flying by acquiring his pilot’s license and owning and building several airplanes throughout his life. He was a master of many trades (talented mechanic, carpenter, ranch hand, insurance salesman, shrimp boat captain) and finally retired from TEAM Aircraft where he was a partner for design and construction of small aircraft. After retiring, he and Linda loved traveling throughout the United States in their motorhome and cruising the Caribbean.
