I was friends with Kathi in junior high.
Happy to see she had kids and grandkids to love. May she rest in peace.

I had the pleasure of working with Kathi her entire tenor at Columbus City Schools as we were hired nearly the same time. We worked really well together, talked outside of work and kept in touch after I accepted a new position. I will miss her friendship, knowledge and great work ethic.
I had hoped to talk to you before you slipped away to let you know that I cherished your friendship for 20+ years. People referred to you as the "Ice Queen" but I knew better. You were really tough on the outside but deep down you had the biggest heart. I can take comfort in knowing that you are breathing easier, raising havoc in the streets of gold and reunited with your parents.
Rest easy and thank you for being my friend for many, many years.

Had the pleasure of bringing Kathi aboard here at Columbus City Schools in 2001. It was a new position, outside the accounting office stationed in the HQ for Buildings and Grounds which was basically a blue collar environment. Her original office was back in the warehouse space, but she decorated her walls with posters of the Beatles and always had classic rock softly playing in the background.
Despite not having a supervisor on site, Kathi applied herself to the work with a passion. We could always count on her thoroughness, follow thru, speed, and attention to detail.
Asked her earlier this year when she was planning to retire, relating I was looking at the end of 2026 and wanted to make sure she'd be around. She promised January of 2027, but God had other plans.
She was hard nosed and business like, someone you knew you could always count on. Her approach to work whether on the job or at home is an example of old school values that are getting harder to find. I'm sorry she won't have the time on earth she wanted to share with her grandchildren. It's a huge loss for them. She set an example for a well lived life.
I'll miss you Kathi. Rest in peace. God bless you and you family.
Kathi was know as the "ice queen" at work but I always got along well with her. Gone much too young. 🙏
