In Loving Memory of Karl Bowman
Karl Bowman, a beloved father, husband, son, grandpa, and uncle, passed away peacefully in his loving home, surrounded by his cherished family on Sunday, November 5th, at the age of 84. Karl was born in Lancaster, Ohio, to proud parents Hallie Bowman and Kathleen Brady. He spent 62 years of his life in Lancaster and an additional 23 years in Pickerington.
Karl was a graduate of Lancaster High School, Class of 1957, and went on to serve his country with honor and pride as a member of the Air Force. His dedicated service to our nation was a source of great pride for him throughout his life.
For 37 years, Karl was an integral part of Western Electric/AT&T/Lucent Technologies, where his strong work ethic and commitment made a lasting impact. His colleagues held him in high regard for his dedication and expertise.
Karl's unwavering faith was evident through his 60+ years as a proud and devoted member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Lancaster. His commitment to his church community was a testament to his character and the values he held dear.
Karl leaves behind a loving family, including his devoted wife of 57 years, Mildred Bowman, his son Jeff (Holly) Bowman, his daughter Trudy (JR) Crawford, his daughter Pam (Patrick) Pierce, and his surviving brother, Pete (Wanda) Bowman. He was also a proud and adoring grandfather to Jordan (Lyssa) Crawford, Jalyn Crawford, Ty and Chase Bowman, and Dylan and Lexie Pierce.
Karl was preceded in death by his siblings, Gene Bowman, Donna Daugherty, and Twila Herber. Their memories will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved them.
Karl was a man of many passions. He cherished his role as a dedicated and proud Air Force veteran, relishing every opportunity to share his experiences with others. He had an eclectic taste in music and enjoyed all genres. His greatest joy in life came from spending time with his family and friends, sharing moments of laughter and love. Karl was also a skilled pool player and enjoyed countless games with his loved ones.
He had a zest for life and often went for long bike rides, immersing himself in the beauty of the outdoors any chance he got. His friendly and welcoming nature meant that he never knew a stranger; he would strike up conversations with anyone, making friends wherever he went. Karl could often be seen walking his dachshund, Lady, providing companionship and so much love to his loyal four-legged friend.
Karl Bowman's legacy is one of love, devotion, and a zest for life. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will forever be a source of inspiration and joy.
We will gather in the Bauserman Sanctuary at the Reynoldsburg Community Church 1636 Graham Road Reynoldsburg Ohio 43068 on Saturday November 18th at 10:30 for an 11AM Veterans Tribute/Service. A catered lunch and Celebration of Life party will immediately follow in the Community Room from noon to 3:00. Please come with your favorite Karl/Ted memories and moments and please contact the family to RSVP so we can get a final count for the caterer. We welcome our friends and family to celebrate and honor his memory and the impact he had on the lives of many.
