Judith Gegorski Wellman's Obituary
Judith Gegorski Wellman, 77, residing in Pickerington, Ohio (From Fremont, Ohio) passed away on Monday, August 14th surrounded by family.
Judy is survived by her husband David Wellman; her children Kregg (Tricia), Kristi (Chris), Kyle (Jenine), Kevin (Michelle); 13 grandchildren; siblings Robert Meyers (Sara) and Cheryl Rowley (Jeff). She is predeceased by her parents Joseph and Betty Meyers; first husband Richard “Dick” Gegorski; daughter Kelli Collins (David) and brother Thomas Meyers (Linda).
Judy was born on March 16th, 1946 to Joseph and Betty Meyers in Fremont, Ohio. After Judy graduated from St. Joseph’s Central Catholic High School in 1964, she wed her first husband, Dick Gegorski. They had five children. Judy was an exceptional wife and mother. She entered the workforce full time after being widowed at the age of 50. She held several roles over the years, from working in retail to receptionist, but her greatest role was raising her children and seeing her grandchildren grow up. In her final months in hospice care, a smile would come to her face when her grandchildren came to her side. She cared deeply for her family and this care was reciprocated by her son, Kyle, whose organ donation provided her with several more years of life with her family. This reciprocation was also evident from her husband, Dave, who was devoted to her care and advocacy during many years of health complications.
Our family would like to thank OhioHealth Hospice, especially James, her Nurse, and her Nurse’s Aide, Naocko. We would also like to thank her Right at Home caregiver, Maya, who assisted with her care over the past five months.
A service is scheduled for family and friends on Friday, August 25th at 10:30am at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, 600 Hill Road North, Pickerington, Ohio 43147. Immediately following the Mass, a luncheon will be served in the Herrmann Hall located at Seton Parish. For those unable to attend in person, a live stream will be available via Seton’s website at https://www.setonparish.com.
