John D. Wright's Obituary
John Dean Wright of Worthington, Ohio was born at Reed Memorial Hospital in Richmond, Indiana to the late Cleo G. & Gladys (nee Mong) A. Wright.
John graduated from Jackson High School, Union City, Indiana in 1959. John served in the 6913th RSM of the US Air Force. He spent 3 years in Bremerhaven, Germany where he met the love of his life, Heidi. They were married on August 1, 1964.
John and Heidi have one son, Thomas John Wright and granddaughter, Zoe. John is also survived by his brother-in law Tom Gretton, his sister-in-law, Dagmar Lim, her husband, Jit-San Lim, their sons, Christopher Lim, Kevin Lim, Kevin’s fiance’ Caroline Schnitzer and their daughter Emily Lim.
John was preceded in death by his sister, Linda Wright Gretton and his in-laws, Werner and Edith Tesch.
In 1969, John met Richard L. Duke and, as a result, became one of the founding members of the Chemlawn Corporation in Troy, Ohio. John started on a spray truck in 1969 and left 13 years later as a Corporate Group Vice President.
John enjoyed the outdoors, he was a Life Member of Big Walnut Conservation Club, the Ohio Big Buck Association, the American Angus Association, Life member of the Ohio Gun Collectors Association, the Savage Arms Collectors Forum and a very proud Benefactor Member of the NRA.
John considered himself very fortunate that he could enjoy many hunting and fishing trips in the Western US as well as some special fishing trips to Canada.
One of John’s passions was raising Black Angus cattle on his farm in Galena, Ohio.
John was very thankful for everyone who touched his life and helped him achieve his dreams just as he hopes he was able to do the same for others.
