John Walter VanSise Jr.'s Obituary
John “Jack” Walter VanSise Jr., of Dublin, left us on November 26, 2023. He was born on February 22, 1930 to John and Charline VanSise in Chardon. He is survived by his wife, Eloise (Wiegand), children Randolph (Gina) VanSise and Brenda Dailey, sister Dorothe Biro, and grandchildren Taylor Dailey, Jack Dailey, Ramona VanSise, and Pierre VanSise. He was preceded in death by his siblings Jane Jeffery, Richard VanSise, and William VanSise, and son-in-law Tom Dailey.
Jack grew up in the Akron/Stow area and spent most of his adult life living in central Ohio. He graduated from Ohio State in 1956 and spent time in the Army and National Guard. Living in Columbus is where he met Ellie, who he married in 1961 and was married to for over 61 years. Jack and Ellie made their home in Dublin where they raised two children, Randy and Brenda. Jack worked for the Nestle corporation in Marysville as a chemical engineer for 28 years and has been enjoying retirement since 1987. Jack enjoyed spending time at his cabin at Indian Lake, boating, water skiing, jet skiing, working around the house, and most recently, square dancing. He could fix or repair anything, and if he couldn’t, he would figure it out. Those who knew him will remember that he always had a smile on his face and an infectious laugh.
Visitation will take place at Northwest United Methodist Church, 5200 Riverside Drive in Columbus on Saturday, December 9 from 10:00-11:00. A memorial service and lunch will follow.
