John "Jack" Shannon's Obituary
John “Jack” Shannon passed away peacefully at the age of 72 on May 29, 2024 at the Kobacker House surrounded by his loving family. Jack graduated from Upper Arlington high school in 1969 and attended The Ohio State University and Franklin University where he received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting. He enjoyed bowling and was a mechanic at Fiesta Lanes before becoming the General Manger of Capri Lanes in 1980 then Sawmill Lanes in 1990. He later received his real estate license and worked for Street Realty. In 2021 he retired from the City of Columbus after 21 years as a tax auditor.
Preceded in death by his father John Shannon, mother Marilyn Sebring, step father Eugene Sebring and sister Sue Biddiscombe. Jack is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Amelia, children Patricia (Adam) Reuther of Louisville Kentucky, Kevin (Laura Crane) Shannon of Ipswich England, Elizabeth (Alex) Young of Broadway Ohio and Thomas Shannon and his fiancée Hannah Johnson of Columbus Ohio. He is also survived by his grandson Henrik Reuther. Besides bowling, his hobbies included singing, golfing and playing poker at the Shark Tank where he met his dear friend Joe Abrahams. Jack will always be remembered for his great sense of humor and dedication to his family.
The Family will be having a private celebration of his life. Forever in our hearts.
