Jeannette Huston Lloyd's Obituary
Jeannette Huston Lloyd, beloved wife of the late E. Van Lloyd, passed away on October 25, 2023, just a few weeks shy of her 105 birthday. She was born in 1918 to Harp H. and Nancy (Brock) Huston in Pleasant Run, Ohio. After graduating from Hamilton High School in 1936, she attended Miami University, Oxford, Ohio. During WWII, she supported the war effort through employment at Wright Aircraft Engine Company in Evendale, Ohio. After the war, having completed her Bachelor of Science degree, she seized an opportunity to fill a teacher vacancy which was left void from the devastation of a tsunami affecting the Hawaiian Islands. This led to a lifelong love of teaching and traveling abroad. She taught United States military children at bases in Hawaii, Japan, and Germany, and took advantage of opportunities to travel to Australia, Norway, the Middle East, East Berlin, and the Soviet Union.
Jeannette is survived by her nieces, nephews, and their spouses Robert Huston (Beverly), Judith Nolte (Robert), David Huston, Joanne Morgan (Randy), and Cynthia Kusel (Bill). She is predeceased by her husband, her parents, her sister Ruth Haisley, her brother Albert Huston, and her nephews L. Michael Hopper, Richard Hopper, and Gerald Huston.
Most recently, Jeannette lived in Westerville, Ohio. Private arrangements will be announced at a later date.
Cremation services entrusted to Buckeye Cremation Services by Schoedinger.
