James Clifton Scott's Obituary
James Clifton Scott, 79, of Thornville, passed away at home on February 26, 2026. He was born on April 30, 1946, in Denver, Colorado, to Robert Lee and Vivian Scott. He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved son, Jimmy Scott.
Jim was a 1964 graduate of West Union High School. He proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1964 to 1968. He went on to dedicate 29 years to United Parcel Service before happily retiring. Jim was a proud member of Teamsters Local 413, the Fraternal Order of Eagles #2801, and the Walnut Township Zoning Board.
He enjoyed collecting toy trucks and building model trains. A true craftsman, Jim was always making things better wherever he could. He had a sweet tooth and a heart of gold.
Jim is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 57 years, Joyce Scott; his son, Jonathan Scott; his Daughter-law, Teresa Scott; his grandchildren, Mel (Tad) Parks, Alex (Emily) Glock, Rick (Brooke Schuyler) Scott, Jayson (Melissa) Scott, and Trinity Scott; his great-grandchildren, Tricia Parks, Erin and Alia Glock, Parker Scott, Tucker Parks, Sophia Scott, and Jackson Scott; his siblings, Ron (Carol) Scott, Judy (Dale) Buob, and Bev (Cliff) Messenger; and his special companions, Gator and Tigger.
The family would like to thank the hospice team for their dedication and compassionate care.
There will be no services held.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a leukemia charity in honor of Jim’s son, Jimmy.
