James (no middle) McCorkle's Obituary
JAMES MCCORKLE 1946-2022 James “Jim” McCorkle was born to the late James Willard and Marta Teresa Marie Lada McCorkle, in Heidelberg, Germany. on November 11,1946. Jim was raised in Painesville, Ohio. He was a dedicated reader and a serious scholar. He was a sportsman, being the captain of basketball and baseball teams during his formative years. He graduated from Painesville High School, continuing his education at The Ohio State University achieving dual degrees in Biology and Chemistry. He completed his Juris Doctorate degree at Case Western University. Jim served in the United States Army, as a medic and lab specialist, exercising his undergraduate degree. He encouraged education and was generous in his life helping others, including creating trust funds for cases involving children. ⁸He loved life. He was an avid OSU, Cleveland Browns, and Cleveland Indians enthusiast. Jim passed away on March 7th, 2022, following a long illness. He was preceded in death by his parents and special aunt and uncle, Frances and Jerry Gatins. He is survived by daughter, Mallory Marie and bonus daughter, Courtney Nicole Baas, his sister Ann (Dave) Hess, numerous nieces, nephews, and families. Jim is also survived by special friends Lori McCorkle and Michael Muldoon, as well as other numerous friends. Jim will be remembered at a Celebration of Life service, held in the Washington Gladden Chapel at the Dublin Community Church, 81 West Bridge Street, Dublin, Ohio, on March 19, 2022, at 1:30 p.m. The service will be led by Rev.
