James Harrison's Obituary
James Harrison, 74 years, passed away peacefully at home in his sleep May 31, 2025. Jim was born in Columbus, Ohio to the late John and Virginia Harrison. He graduated from Whetstone High School in 1968. He was active in the music department playing tenor sax and a firm believer in not being present for lunch and study periods, if possible. He attended college at Bluffton College, Franklin University, and OSU. Jim worked for Amoco Chemical Corp in both Columbus, Ohio and Denver, Colorado. He was also employed by Nationwide Insurance in the Claims department. He worked in Columbus, West Virginia, and Indiana as a personal and commercial large fire loss specialist.
Jim’s interests included motorcycling (he owned 14 bikes), camping (12 RVs), ATV riding, and traveling. The west and southwest areas of the country were his favorite places to visit.
He is survived by his wife Chris (Deniston), brother Jeff and sister-in-law Sharon Harrison, and brother-in-law Jeff Deniston.
Jim was a quiet man. He will be missed by his family and friends. He was loved. At his request, no funeral will be held. His ashes will be buried at the New Bremen German Protestant Cemetery and a Celebration of Life will be held later in the year. In lieu of flowers (the cats eat them), please consider a donation to the Kidney Foundation or a charity of your choice.
One last note approved and encouraged by Jim: To all realtors, the house is not for sale. Do NOT call.
