Glenn Matthew Stamey's Obituary
Glenn Matthew Stamey, of Newark, Ohio, referred to by his family as "Denny", crossed over to Heaven on Sunday, February 5th, 2023, at the age of 80. Glenn fought the good fight against non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma for more than 25 years. Glenn was a patient when he passed away at the James Hospital, in Columbus, Ohio. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at the James Hospital for all their care and attention for Glenn. Their care really is top notch, but Glenn's body was tired, and he was just ready to rest in God's arms.
Glenn was born on May 17th, 1942, in Moline, Illinois to Glenn Arthur and Maxine
Stamey. He graduated from Moline High School, and then served in the U.S. Army. After his military service, Glenn met his wife Sandra Stamey and was married on August 1st, 1969. The couple moved to Mount Vernon, Ohio to further their education. It was there that Glenn graduated from Mount Vernon Bible College. He served as a pastor at a small church in the west end of Newark, Ohio. Glenn eventually took a job with Holophane in Newark and retired after 40 years in their employ.
Glenn was a devoted hard worker, who loved gardening; planting flowers; antiquing;
and painting any item, wall, or object he could put paint on. He loved spending time with family and grandchildren; loved walking and riding his bike; and he especially loved God and attended church his entire life.
