George William Corrington's Obituary
George W. Corrington, age 67 of Camden passed away peacefully at his niece’s home in Lancaster, Ohio in the early morning hours of January 15, 2022. George was born, December 22, 1954 to Richard and Carolyn (Muddell) Corrington Sr. He graduated from Preble Shawnee High School and attended Miami University for a short period of time. His home and heart were always in Preble County. He is survived by sister Cheryl Pierce of Lancaster, brother Richard (Sarah) Corrington Jr. of Camden, niece Tracy (Jan) Howard of Greenville, nephews Matt and Mark Corrington of Camden, and niece Dee (Shane) Smith of Lancaster; two great-nieces and two great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two infant bothers and brother-in-law, Ronald Pierce. He adored his grandmother and mother, was a doting Uncle and a friend to many. Always true to himself, you rarely saw him without his boots and wranglers, and always sporting his signature smile. Some might say he had a wild streak with a side of adventure, and the stories of his younger days will far outlive his time on this earth. With varying interests, he served western Ohio’s cattle farmers as a bovine genetics consultant, helped many people find their new car or truck in Richmond, delivered everyone’s favorite push-pops and eventually became your friendly neighborhood banker. Fiercely private and independent, he surreptitiously fought the good fight for nearly five years never wanting to burden his family and friends with his illness. His family extends tremendous gratitude to the caring health care professionals at The James Cancer Hospital, Kettering Health and FairHope Hospice for their care and support during his fight. Donations can be made in his memory to the Preble-Shawnee FFA Chapter, Talawanda FFA Chapter, and/or FairHope Hospice. A celebration of his life will be held for friends and family at a later yet to be determined date.
