Frank C. Pratzner's Obituary
Frank C. Pratzner, age 84, died on February 22, 2023, after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was born on December 16, 1938, in Atlantic City, New Jersey to the late Frank M. and Marguerite (Christ) Pratzner. Frank graduated from Egg Harbor City High School in 1956. He then graduated from Trenton State College, NJ with a Bachelors of Arts degree in education. He taught junior and senior high school in NJ before pursuing graduate studies in education at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, earning Master of Arts and PhD degrees. In 1969, he joined the Ohio State University as a senior research specialist at OSU’s National Center for Research in Vocational Education, and as a professor in the College of Education. He is the author of many publications and journal articles. He served as the editor of the Journal of Industrial Teacher Education from 1992-1993 and taught graduate and undergraduate courses in the College of Education. He retired from OSU in 1995. Frank loved spending time with family and friends, annual trips to the beach at Nags Head, NC and to Costa Rica with his daughter and son-in-law. He enjoyed woodworking, yard and garden work, reading, watercolor and oil painting, and birding. He will be greatly missed by his loving daughter Stephanie Pratzner Morera and son-in-law Jorge Morera. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Judith Pratzner.
