Ellen Frances Bevelander's Obituary
Ellen Frances Bevelander passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at the age of 82. Born to Timothy Joseph and Mary Margaret (Kennedy) Clifford in South Boston, Massachusetts, Ellen’s warm and loving presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her sister, Barbara (Richard) Shenk, and many nieces and nephews: Veronica (Marc) LeRoy, Timothy (Jenn) Shenk, Michael (Laurie) Clifford, and Christine (Tom) Sellig. She is preceded in death by her brother, Paul, and sister-in-law, Linda.
Ellen’s children – Gretchen (Greg) Sting, Mark (Tracy) Bevelander, and Garrett Bevelander – will forever carry her memory in their hearts. She was also a proud grandmother to eight grandchildren: Elliott (Constance) Sting, Austin (Amelia) Sting, Ethan (Lily) Sting, Christian (Anne Marie) Bevelander, Dylan Bevelander, Kaiden Bevelander, Mikaela Bevelander, and Donovan Bevelander. Additionally, Ellen was the loving great-grandmother of four: Isaac and Caroline Sting, Bennett Bevelander, and Harper Sting.
Ellen’s enduring relationships extended beyond family, as she remained close to her ex-husband, Brian Bevelander and Donald Bevelander, brother-in-law, who continued to be an important part of her life.
Ellen was a graduate of Cardinal Cushing Central High School in South Boston, Massachusetts, and went on to earn her Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Heidelberg College in Tiffin, Ohio. She spent many years working as a medical transcriptionist at Promedica, where she retired after a long and fulfilling career.
Among her many passions, Ellen found great joy in spending time with her family, especially attending her grandchildren's sporting events. A sports enthusiast, she also enjoyed watching soccer and football games. Her love for travel took her across Europe, Alaska, Las Vegas, and the East and West coasts, as well as frequent visits to her beloved family in New England. A lifelong reader and music lover, Ellen also had a creative side, enjoying drawing, painting, gardening, and knitting.
A memorial service will be held to honor Ellen's life on Friday, March 21 at 3:00 PM at Faith Community Church, 3450 County Road 210, St. Johns, Florida, 32259.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Ellen’s memory to your local hospice or a charity of your choice. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the Luminary Hospice care team for the exceptional care they provided to Ellen and her loved ones during this time.
