Dorothea Taylor Jeggle's Obituary
Dorothea “Dottie” Jeggle, 80, of Dublin, OH was born on June 20, 1941 and died at home on September 5, 2021 surrounded by family. Dottie was preceded in death by parents Charles N. and Mary Frances Taylor, brother Charles F. Taylor and his wife Katherine, and brother-in-law Terry Jeggle. She is survived by David, her husband of 60 years; son Scott (Nancy); daughter Karen (Bruce) Messenger; granddaughters Cate (Agus Borja) Messenger, Anne (David) Trader, Jennie (Matt) Steinfeld, Hope (Dan) Geiser, Karla Jeggle and Laura Jeggle; six great-grandchildren; brother John (Terry) Taylor and sister-in-law Char Jeggle.
Dottie grew up in Haddonfield NJ. She graduated from Haddonfield Memorial High School and Otterbein University, and earned her CPA in 1983. She worked for three accounting firms, most recently Rea & Associates from which she retired in 2007. But her first priority and greatest joy was always her family. Although it was important to Dottie that she and Dave escape the cold weather by spending winters (and then some) at their beachfront condo on Marco Island, FL, central Ohio was always home because “that’s where the family is.” A church member throughout her life, in her retirement years Dottie was a member, leader and active participant at both Dublin Presbyterian Church and United Church of Marco Island. She and Dave traveled extensively throughout the U.S. and in 45 other countries.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. (3 p.m. visitation) on September 25 at Dublin Presbyterian Church, Rev. Janice Hilkerbaumer officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Dublin Presbyterian Church, 5775 Dublinshire Dr., Dublin OH 43017, Dublin Food Pantry, 81 W. Bridge St., Dublin OH 43017, or Our Daily Bread Food Pantry, 1450 Winterberry Dr., Marco Island, FL 34145.
