Dominique Lamar Pounds, born May 8, 1980, in Hickory, North Carolina, tragically passed away on November 22, 2024, at the age of 44, following a sudden cardiac arrest. His passing has left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew him.
Dominique was a loving father to his two children, Aidan Pounds and Ashton Pounds. He was a devoted and proud father whose love for his children was immeasurable.
A passionate and dedicated coach, Dominique found joy and fulfillment in guiding and inspiring young athletes. His love for football was evident in the countless lives he touched through his coaching career, which spanned from North Carolina, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ohio to Missouri. His commitment to his teams and his ability to inspire others through his passion for the game made him a respected figure in the football community.
Dominique’s infectious energy, warm heart, and unwavering support for those around him will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of working with him. He had a natural gift for connecting with others, and his presence always brightened any room he entered. Whether on the field or in everyday life, Dominique’s positivity and determination were unmatched, and he leaves behind a legacy of resilience and compassion.
Dominique was preceded in death by his parents, Dianne Lucille Ramsuer Pounds and Dwayne Brennan Pounds of Hickory, North Carolina. He is survived by his two beloved children, Aidan Pounds and Ashton Pounds who reside in Rolesville, North Carolina, his girlfriend Candice Clark and her children who reside in Columbus, Ohio, and numerous Aunts, Uncles and cousins. His family takes comfort in knowing that his spirit will continue to guide them, just as he did for so many others throughout his life.
