Diane Mary Tonguette's Obituary
Diane Mary Tonguette, of Blacklick, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on September 28, 2023. She was born on July 5, 1944, in Sioux City, Iowa. One of four children born to Clifford and Mildred Kruck, Diane grew up with an appreciation for culture and the arts. She loved classical music, ballet, and literature, and she was proficient in French. She graduated from Central High School in Sioux City in 1962. In 1966, she married her husband, Del, an Air Force officer and later a credit and debit card innovator. Over the course of their marriage, Diane and Del resided in many locales, including her favorite city, Colorado Springs, Colorado; Bowling Green, Ohio; Upper Arlington; and, for 13 years, in suburbs of New Orleans. In 1998, Diane and Del returned to Ohio with their sons, Peter and Patrick. Diane worked in banking until becoming a full-time homemaker after the birth of her children. She loved maintaining her house, cooking in her kitchen, going on long walks, watching classic movies with her sons, and following current events. Her sense of style and taste was impeccable; a confirmed Anglophile, she loved all things British. She relished spending time at her piano playing works by favorite composers or hymns from her church in Sioux City, St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. She supported Peter and Patrick’s endeavors unwaveringly, and the three of them were a “team” following the untimely death of Del in 2010. Diane was preceded in death by her husband, Del; her parents, Clifford and Mildred Kruck; and her brother, Louis Kruck. She is survived by her loving sons, Peter and Patrick; her sisters, Marilyn Lodge of Asheville, North Carolina, and Nancy Armold, of Ashland, Oregon; her nephew, Erik Armold of Ashland, Oregon; and her niece, Sara Armold, of Haleiwa, Hawaii. Diane will be dearly missed by all who loved her. She will remain in all of our hearts forever.
