David Allen Day's Obituary
David Allen Day, 70, of Heath, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2026 at Selma MarkowitzHospice Center.
Dave was born on May 7, 1956, in Fremont, Ohio. Dave was the son of the late Robert Gordon Day and Juanita Mae Day (Kehrer).
Dave was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose kindness, humor, and caring heart touched everyone who knew him. He was happily married to his beloved wife, Kathy, for almost 11 wonderful years. The love Dave had for Kathy was indescribable — she was truly his rock.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy; his son, Chad (Christa) Day; his daughters, Amanda Kinser (Jamie Anderson), Brittany Kinser (Jay Tharpe), and Courtney Weekly (Jordan Corbett); his brother, Michael Day; his grandchildren, Ashlyn (Kolby) Fisher, Aubryn (Tanner) Osborn, Evin Day, Natalie Wente, Jaiden Dansby (Jill Erhard), J’Kel Dansby, Brooklyn Farabee, Emma Farabee, Scarlett Tharpe, and Oaklyn Corbett (“Pookie”); his beloved dog, Brutus Allen Day; as well as many great-grandchildren, extended family members, and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his son, Tyson Day; his sister, Terri Day; his brother, Larry Day; and his grandson, Jayce Dansby.
Dave retired from THK after 20 years of dedicated work. In retirement, he enjoyed golfing, driving cars for Lash Chevrolet, and spending Sundays umpiring slow-pitch softball games. He loved making people laugh and had a way of bringing joy and comfort to those around him.
Dave will always be remembered for his loving spirit, his sense of humor, and the way he lived life with acceptance and strength. As Dave always said, “It is what it is.”
He will be deeply missed and forever loved by all who knew him.
To respect Dave’s wishes, there will be no services held. There will be a Celebration of Life planned at a later date.
