Daniel Scott Ohol's Obituary
Daniel Scott Ohol, age 64, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 20, 2023 at home. Dan was born in Columbus, Ohio on September 4, 1958. He graduated from Teays Valley High School in 1976. He went to Eastland Career Center for carpentry and was a cabinetmaker by trade for over 15 years. To say that Dan was an enthusiast of Ohio State football would be an understatement. He was better known as Buckeye Dan. On college game day, you can bet he would be front and center to watch his beloved Buckeyes play. In addition to his admiration for football, baseball was Dan’s first love and he was a well-known pitcher in his hometown. He was extremely gifted in sports and was a natural athlete. Dan loved to be outside and during the summertime you would find him at Alum Creek, Buckeye Lake or a local pond to fish. Dan had a sense of humor that was infectious and he loved to laugh and tell jokes. He had a huge heart and would help anyone in need. He was loved by many. Dan is preceded in death by his parents, Frank Ohol and Marjorie (Millard “Buss”) Wolfe; and sister, Teresa Chambers. Survived by his children, Joseph Dickson and Emily Grainer; grandchildren, Zachary Dickson and Sydney Dickson; sister, Kathy (Pat) Richards; niece, Kris Chambers and nephew, Jimmy Richards; other relatives and friends. Family will gather on Monday, March 6, 2023 from 1-2 pm at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Chapel, 5600 E. Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio 43213 where a memorial service and interment will be held. There will be a wake to follow at Raccoon Creek Apartments Clubhouse from 3-5pm.
