Daniel Joseph Nettler, 67, passed away on January 2, 2026, in Gahanna, Ohio after a one year battle with Sarcoma. Born on April 21, 1958 in St. Louis Missouri, Dan moved to Ohio in 1962. His education began at St. Pius Elementar Read Obituary
Dan and I were neighbors growing up. We spent hours playing baseball and curb ball together. Or just playing catch. Dan was known as the” home run Prince” in the neighborhood. As he had the third highest home run amount. I enjoyed our conversations and am saddened to hear of his passing.
Dan Nettler and his daughter have been friends of my family for a long time. He was always so kind to me in 11 o clock choir. He will missed. He was always smiling.
Dan and I were “sawdust buddies “ among other things. We enjoyed talking about our projects and sharing tips and tricks that we learned from woodworking YouTube videos. Dan always had the neater and cleaner shop and the best tools.
Dan and I were also Cochlear hearing device recipients and Cochlear volunteers. We both enjoyed mentoring Cochlear candidates.
We always enjoyed sharing pictures and stories of family gatherings. Dan loved his wife, daughters and grandchildren very much.

While I have several good memories of my Uncle Dan, I suppose him always calling me Crayon and wearing a shirt that told everyone who he was when I played sports in high school.

Dan and I met as freshmen in high school. Dan and I were the only freshmen small enough to be in the same wrestling weight class, so we competed frequently in intermural sports - alternating who won by mutual agreement (yes, it was rigged). We developed a life-long interest in science/engineering and ended up working together on numerous large projects at the Defense Supply Center Columbus (DSCC).
Dan's presence will be deeply missed at our periodic dinner outings with the DSCC group. He was a great team mate, wonderful friend, and a decent wrestler (in the 98-pound weight class).
I remember when i was pregnant with my first child, our father told dan that if your sister has a boy, dan would be an uncle, but if she has a girl, he would be an aunt. Dan always signed his cards to my daughter 'Aunt Dan' thank you dan for the memories. I love you and will always miss you. 🤟kim
